Wednesday - Saturday, 7am - 5 pm
The Gluten Laboratory Technician performs analytical testing of food ingredients and finished products in a high-volume commercial laboratory. This role utilizes wet chemistry, advanced laboratory instrumentation, and standardized testing methods to generate accurate, timely results that support regulatory compliance and customer product claims. The technician maintains quality standards, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures compliance with ISO 17025 and laboratory safety requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform gluten testing, wet chemistry analyses, data interpretation, calculations, peer review, and reporting.
  • Prioritize sample workload to meet turnaround times and quality expectations.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments.
  • Follow ISO 17025 quality systems, investigate quality issues, and support accreditation audits.
  • Develop and update laboratory procedures, evaluate new test methods, and participate in continuous improvement projects.
  • Cross-train laboratory staff, support cross-functional activities, and maintain a safe laboratory environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree preferred in Food Science, Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of food testing laboratory experience.
  • Proficiency in wet chemistry, pipetting, analytical calculations, solution preparation, and laboratory safety.
  • Experience troubleshooting laboratory equipment and maintaining analytical instruments.
  • Knowledge of ISO 17025 accredited laboratory practices; LabWare LIMS experience preferred.
