FlightSafety operates the world's largest fleet of advanced full-flight simulators and award-winning maintenance training at Learning Centers and training locations in the United States, Canada, France and the United Kingdom.
Purpose of Position
Competent in subject matter, principles, knowledge, and concepts; generally considered a specialist in area of technical teaching; able to perform full scope of activities associated with job which includes the most difficult aspects
Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Develops and maintains Database Generation System (DBGS) course material for internal training.
  • Schedules and delivers DBGS training to teammates.
  • Researches external training opportunities for database teammates and recommends programs.
  • Arranges for web based or external provider training.
  • Recommends recurrent and remedial technical and professional development training for the database teammates.
  • Delivers and/or coordinates new or revised software, process and/or technique training.
  • Reports on the internal training budget for the database team and provides feedback to Director.
  • Schedules speciality support with required by coordinating with PMO for external training, DBGS hardware and software needs.
  • Maintains training records for all internal training courses delivered. Coordinates with Teammate Resources to assuring training is appropriately recorded.
  • Point of contact for external DBGS customer support.
  • Maintains log of customer issues, DBGS needs and inquires and escillates customer issues as appropriate.
  • Develops and maintains marketing material and catalog descriptions that are consistent with the products offered. Recommends changes as needed.
  • Coordinates with other departments within FSI for hardware buildup.
  • Maintains records of DBGS hardware and software versioning.

Minimum Education
Bachelor's Degree (B. A.) in Education or related field
Minimum Experience
  • 5 years minimum experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Windows and Word software.
  • Must be familiar with 3d modeling software (One or more of 3DS Max, Maya, Lightwave, Autocad, etc) and Photoshop. Industry-specific 3D modeling packages including Presagis Creator, TerraVista, ArcView/ArcInfo, are pluses.
  • Unix and scripting experience are pluses.
  • Background experience with image generator systems and real-time environments, including gaming, is highly desired.

Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
