Description

Position Summary Perform all essential functions of Class III Engineer plus special skills in a particular trade: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC in an efficient, safe, accident-free manner. Essential Functions

  • Perform maintenance and repairs in specialized areas such as plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC. (50%)
  • Perform all essential functions of Class III Engineer. (40%)
  • Clean and maintain all equipment and work areas. (5%)
  • Document all parts used and parts needed to be purchased. (3%)
  • Report any unsafe conditions to the Director of Engineering. (2%) Non-Essential Functions None.

Qualifications

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Education: High school diploma, plus two years or its equivalent in trade school or training in building maintenance/construction.
  • Experience: Minimum four years experience in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, carpentry or building maintenance.
  • Skills and Abilities: Must have basic knowledge of building mechanical systems and controls, energy management and building maintenance skills. May require ability to drive pick-up truck and snow removal equipment. No. Of employees supervised: None. Travel Required: Limited, local travel upon request. Hours Required: Scheduled days and times may vary based on need. Lifting/Pushing/Pulling/Carrying: Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling and carrying required to perform inspections and repairs anywhere in or out of hotel property. Bending/Kneeling: Frequent bending and kneeling required to inspect and repair. No kneeling. Mobility: 100% mobility required in all areas of hotel property and grounds. Continuous Standing: No Continuous Standing Required. Climbing Stairs: Up to approx. 90 steps 10% of 8 hours. Ladders: Up to approx, 8 feet 20% of 8 hours Driving: 10% of 8 hour day required to drive company pick-up truck. Work Environment -Inside: 90% of 8 hours. Outside: 10% of 8 hours. Describe any abnormal temperature exposures: 5 to 95 degrees. Hearing: Critical To hear portable radio, alarms, guests. Vision: Critical Visually inspect and maintain equipment. Speech: Critical Respond to portable radio to base, guests. Literacy: Moderate Read instructions and repair manuals. Chemicals/Agents: Frequency depends upon job assignment. Painter would use painting chemicals 90% of time, electric job may not require any. Protective Clothing: None Required. Equipment Operation: Electric saws, and hand tools.
