Location: Baltimore Ravens Boys amp; Girls Club
$16.50/hr - $18.50/hr
Position Summary:
Do you want to be a part of helping Baltimore youth build HEALTHY FUTURES? As Boys amp; Girls Club of Metro Baltimore’s Healthy Lifestyles Specialist, you will do just that!
The Healthy Lifestyles Specialist supports the Manager of Healthy Lifestyles in delivering high-quality sports, fitness, nutrition, and health amp; wellness programming for Boys amp; Girls Club members. This part-time position focuses on creating safe, inclusive, and engaging opportunities for youth to build healthy habits, stay active, and learn lifelong wellness skills. The Specialist works directly with youth in program spaces, supports positive behavior guidance, and ensures program activities reflect the mission and values of the Club.
Responsibilities:
Program Delivery amp; Youth Engagement
  • Lead and assist with daily Healthy Lifestyles activities, including sports, fitness, nutrition, and wellness programs.
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and fun environment where all youth feel safe and encouraged to participate.
  • Adapt activities to meet the developmental needs and interests of diverse youth groups.
  • Model healthy behaviors and encourage youth to build lifelong wellness habits.
Support amp; Supervision
  • Work closely with the Healthy Lifestyles Manager to implement programs, activities, and schedules.
  • Help support helpful and safe behavior during activities, projects, and programs.
  • Provide feedback to the Manager about youth engagement, ideas, and program impact.
Operations amp; Safety
  • Assist in setting up, maintaining, and cleaning program spaces, equipment, and supplies.
  • Follow all safety and health guidelines to ensure a safe environment for youth.
  • Help track attendance and participation data.
Teamwork amp; Collaboration
  • Support other program areas when needed, maintaining a flexible and team-oriented approach.
  • Build positive relationships with Club staff, youth, and families.
Education amp; Experience:
  • High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework in recreation, physical education, health, or related fields a plus.
  • Experience working with youth in recreation, sports, fitness, or afterschool settings preferred.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to model healthy behaviors and lead by example.
Miscellaneous:
  • This is a part-time, hourly position.
  • Must pass a background and reference check in accordance with youth safety standards.
  • Some evening or weekend hours may be required for special events.
