To thrive as a Lifeguard, you need strong swimming ability, knowledge of water safety protocols, and current certifications in lifeguarding, CPR, and first aid. Familiarity with rescue equipment, emergency response systems, and pool management tools is typically required. Effective management involves staying focused, rotating positions regularly to avoid fatigue, and communicating clearly with team members. Lifeguards are trained to scan their zones efficiently and work collaboratively to ensure no area is overlooked. Proactive engagement with swimmers and enforcing pool rules also help prevent incidents before they occur.
