Job description

Overview
The department of Biosystems Engineering at Auburn University is seeking candidates for a Research Assistant. The individual selected for this position will provide professional and technical assistance with research programs focused on the study of agricultural wastewater treatment and bioreactor development.
This is a two-year limited term appointment. Continuation of employment is contingent upon the availability of funds.
Responsibilities
  • Assist principal investigator
  • Assist in the development of project plans and laboratory protocols
  • Perform and supervise wastewater bioreactor research activities
  • Summarize data from research and stakeholder engagements
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations to support publication
  • Perform various other duties as assigned by supervisor with regards to sustainable wastewater engineering practices

Qualifications
Levl I:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Agriculture; no experience required.
  • Valid Driver's License

Level II:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Agriculture and 2 years of experience in research practices and protocols relevant to the position.
  • Valid Driver's License

Level III:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Agriculture and 4 years of experience in research practices and protocols relevant to the position.
  • Valid Driver's License

SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED FOR EXPERIENCE: Yes, When a candidate has the required education, but lacks the required experience, they may normally apply additional appropriate education toward the experience requirement, at a rate of one (1) year relevant education per year of required experience.
