In this full-time role, you will play a vital part in delivering high-quality rehabilitation services to our patients in a hospital setting. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, coupled with the ability to collaborate effectively within a dynamic healthcare environment.

About the Organization

At Life Mission Nursing and Rehab, we pride ourselves on our commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our patients through personalized rehabilitation strategies. Our multidisciplinary team includes physical therapists, physicians, and supportive healthcare professionals who work together to foster an environment of healing. We are located in sunny San Diegoโ€”offering a vibrant community setting, rich with cultural and recreational opportunities. Join us in our mission to provide exceptional care that transforms lives.

Work Environment

The work environment at Life Mission Nursing and Rehab is characterized by collaboration and innovation. Working onsite within our hospital facility, you will engage directly with patients in various rehabilitation stages, primarily within the outpatient orthopedic specialty. Our facility is equipped with state-of-the-art rehabilitation tools and technologies, allowing you to implement effective treatment plans that facilitate patient recovery. The supportive atmosphere encourages professional development, teamwork, and a shared commitment to exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Hands-On Care: Collaborate with physical therapists to administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques aimed at increasing patient strength, flexibility, and mobility.
  • Progress Monitoring: Track patient progress meticulouslyโ€”adjusting treatment plans and exercises as necessary to ensure each patient achieves their recovery goals effectively.
  • Patient Education: Educate patients on the purpose and benefits of their prescribed treatment regimens, empowering them to take charge of their recovery both during visits and at home.
  • Team Collaboration: Work alongside a dedicated team of healthcare professionals to ensure a seamless patient experience and integrated approach to rehabilitation care.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and detailed records of treatments, patient responses, and progress updates to assist in ongoing care and treatment evaluations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

In this role, you will work closely with a diverse population of patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal conditions. Your efforts will be instrumental in shaping the rehabilitation journey of each patient, ensuring they receive unbiased support and encouragement throughout their recovery process. Understanding the needs of our patient demographics is crucial, as it informs your approach to treatment and facilitates a personalized rehabilitation experience.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
  • A valid PTA license in California (or qualifications to obtain licensure upon hiring).
  • A strong commitment to patient care and a genuine desire to help others on their path to recovery.
  • Excellent communication abilities to interact with patients, families, and team members effectively.
  • A solid attention to detailโ€”ensuring treatment plans are executed faithfully to maximize patient outcomes.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of two years of experience working as a Physical Therapist Assistant, specifically within orthopedic or outpatient settings.
  • Advanced certifications or specialties in areas such as sports rehabilitation or manual therapy are highly regarded.
Compensation and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $180,000.00 - $200,000.00 per year, alongside a comprehensive benefits package that includes:

  • Health, dental, vision, life, and malpractice insurance coverage.
  • 403(b)/401(k) retirement plan with employer matching contributions.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) along with paid holidays.
  • Professional development support, including paid CME time and financial allowance for continuing education.
  • Loan repayment assistance through federal or state programs like NHSC and CalHealthCares.
Career Growth Opportunities

As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will have opportunities to deepen your expertise through workshops, certifications, and in-house training programs. Your growth is supported by dedicated mentors and a commitment to fostering the skills that will advance your career in rehabilitation.

Why Join Our Team
