Summary of Position
The Digital Communications Specialist helps bring church-wide initiatives to life across The Summit Church's digital channels. Working closely with the Communications, Rock, Creative, and ministry teams, this role executes communication plans, tells stories of life change, and helps people engage with the life and mission of our church. The ideal candidate enjoys both executing communication plans and contributing ideas that make them stronger.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize, and meet deadlines.
  • A strategic, marketing-minded approach to digital communication with the ability to identify opportunities and recommend improvements.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Experience with Rock RMS is preferred.
  • Familiarity with website content management, email marketing, SEO, or digital analytics is preferred.
  • Personal integrity and evidence of ongoing spiritual growth, as expected of all church employees (church attendance, small group membership, tithing, etc.).
  • A member of The Summit Church or willing and able to become a member

Responsibilities
  • Shape how Summit communicates across our website, app, landing pages, email, and other digital channels.
  • Execute digital communication plans that bring church-wide initiatives and ministry priorities to life.
  • Partner closely with Rock, Creative, Social Media, and ministry teams to deliver clear, effective digital communication.
  • Identify, develop, and share stories of life change that celebrate what God is doing and invite people to engage with the mission of our church.
  • Bring a strategic, marketing-minded perspective by recommending ideas and opportunities that strengthen Summit's digital communication and online presence.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Churchwide Events
The hours for this position are expected to be 40 hours per week. As one church that meets in many locations, there are several times throughout the year that Summit holds church-wide events in an effort to do whatever it takes to reach all people. All staff members are expected to serve at these church-wide events regardless of the positions they hold.
Such events include, but are not limited to: Easter services, church-wide prayer meetings, Good Friday service, and Christmas services. Serving expectations will be communicated in advance of each event.
