Job description

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for a Project Surveyor opening in our Poughkeepsie, NY office. LaBella fosters a team-oriented atmosphere and emphasizes unparalleled client services. As a Project Surveyor for LaBella, you will manage and perform survey assignments related to topographic and boundary surveying, ALTA/ASCM land title surveys, construction staking, terrestrial LiDAR and UAV/drone, structure monitoring in support of land surveying, civil engineering, architectural and environmental projects. You will be working under the direction of Licensed Professional Surveyors.
We offer the opportunity for involvement in the management of land surveying projects and tasks for a wide variety of assignments for land surveying, civil engineering, architectural and environmental projects. This is a full-time land surveying position, performing client and project management and business development for land surveying specific and multi-disciplinary projects. If you are not already licensed, this is a professional path position that provides the opportunity to earn a Professional Surveying License. For a licensed candidate, this position offers a path to future managements positions.

Responsibilities:

Communicate with the project team and client to understand the goals, challenges, schedule, budget, and expectations of a project.
Manages projects, including schedules and project-level financials
Manages client expectations & builds client relationships.
Completes business development
Manage, mentor and supervise project staff
Represent survey group on multidisciplinary project teams
Supervise analysis of data reduction, computation and mappings
Develop research documentation for field use
Complete advanced analysis of survey data
Participate in QA/QC of survey deliverable
Monitor and manage survey projects and assignments and suggests course corrections
Follow prescribed safety practices for Land Surveying.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in equal or related position of responsibility
  • Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • AAS or BS in land surveying or related field a plus.
  • Ability to pursue professional licensure in Land Surveying.
  • Knowledge of advanced land surveying systems & techniques, technology and analysis
  • Strong AutoCAD Civil3D and advanced GPS post processing software experience. Experience with Microstation Open Roads and/or Trimble Business Center is a plus.
  • Knowledge of terrestrial LiDAR and UAV/drone surveying
  • Self-motivated, self-starter with the ability to work in a team environment and independently.
  • Maintain a current driver's license in good standing and able to operate company owned vehicles.
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed.

Salary Range: $45 - $55/hr.
