Job description

La Licor Panamericana is a Latin American cocktail bar and restaurant inspired by the flavors, spirits, and cultures found across the Pan-American Highway. Our program highlights tequila, mezcal, pisco, cachaรงa, rum, sotol, raicilla, singani, Latin American wines, and creative cocktails rooted in authenticity, hospitality, and fun.

We are looking for someone who can lead the bar team, maintain consistency, support service, and help us continue building one of the most exciting beverage programs in Chicago.

Responsibilities

The Bar Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily bar operations, maintaining cocktail standards, supporting staff training, managing inventory, placing orders, controlling beverage costs, and ensuring a high level of hospitality during service.

This role requires someone who is hands-on, organized, and comfortable leading from the floor. The ideal candidate understands both the creative and operational sides of a strong bar program.

Key Duties
  • Lead and support the bar team during service
  • Maintain cocktail specs, batching, garnishes, prep, and execution standards
  • Train bartenders and service staff on cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and hospitality
  • Manage weekly inventory, ordering, receiving, and vendor communication
  • Monitor beverage cost, waste, and product usage
  • Help develop seasonal cocktails and menu updates
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and DOH standards behind the bar
  • Work closely with ownership and management on events, brand activations, and special programming
  • Create a positive, professional, and accountable team culture
Qualifications
  • Previous bar management or lead bartender experience required
  • Strong knowledge of classic cocktails and spirits
  • Interest in Latin American spirits and culture is a major plus
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Experience with inventory systems, ordering, and cost control preferred
  • Must be professional, reliable, and hospitality-driven
