General shift hours:
Saturday 4:00 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.; Sunday 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.; with a half-hour meal break.

About the Role:
As a Weekend Dishwasher, you'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping Concordia Dining Services running smoothly. You'll ensure our guests and culinary teams have clean and sanitary dinnerware, cookware, and food preparation equipment while helping maintain a clean and welcoming dining environment.
What You'll Do:
  • Support the mission and vision of Concordia College and demonstrate the competencies as defined for this position.
  • Ensure that dishes, silverware, pans and other foodservice equipment are properly cleaned and quickly returned to the serving line or storage areas.
  • Maintain supplies such as soap, rinse agent, etc. and make sure supplies are readily available.
  • Ensure a safe and clean dish room by adhering to standards of sanitation and safety as established by local, state, and federal health officials. Make sure that instructions are followed on how to run the dishwasher and other equipment correctly; follow all safety practices. Report mechanical or other issues to the Residential Dining Manager or Supervisor on Duty.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintaining dining room and service areas to ensure a neat, clean, and pleasant environment for guests.
  • Work with student employees, co-workers, and management in service to our customers and assist with student employee recruitment and retention.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Take ServSafe® course and pass ServSafe® exam within first three months of employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • High-School Diploma/GED;
  • Three to six months of related experience.

Skills and Abilities
  • Able to understand and follow oral, written, and visual communication;
  • Able to operate related equipment: commercial flight type dishwasher, three-compartment sink, food disposal, pot and pan scrubber);
  • Light custodial skills (e.g.: basic floor care, recycling, trash removal, etc.);
  • Ability to follow instructions for using dish room equipment;
  • Ability to monitor gauges for proper temperatures and monitor soap and sanitizer levels to ensure the health and safety of Dining Services customers;
  • Good communication skills to work cooperatively and productively with other staff in the dish room;
  • Ability to engage our customers with an attitude of willingness and dedication to serve;
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of people.
