Description Position Overview: The Village of Los Lunas is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Library Technician. The Library Technician plays a crucial role in providing essential support for various library operations, including processing acquisitions, cataloging, circulation, and maintaining special collections. This position contributes to the smooth functioning of the library by ensuring the efficient organization and accessibility of materials for library patrons.

Responsibilities: Assist in processing orders for new library materials, including books, media, and other resources, and ensure timely acquisition and preparation for circulation. Perform cataloging duties, accurately inputting cataloging information for new materials into the library system to facilitate easy retrieval by patrons. Manage the check-in process for serials and periodicals, ensuring accurate records of subscriptions and timely availability for library users.

Monitor and track the circulation of materials, including checking items in and out, placing holds, and assisting patrons with account-related inquiries. Contribute to the ongoing maintenance and organization of the library's print and special collections, including shelving and inventory tasks. Assist patrons with basic technology needs, such as using computers, printers, and other library resources, and provide guidance on using library equipment.

Collaborate with library staff to support programs, events, and workshops, as needed. Provide excellent customer service, addressing inquiries and assisting patrons in locating materials and resources. Maintain accurate records and reports related to circulation, acquisitions, and cataloging activities.

Stay informed about library policies, procedures, and resources to effectively assist patrons. Uphold the library's commitment to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all community members. Requirements: High school diploma or GED certificate.

2 years of experience in customer service, with a strong understanding of basic technology. Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail. Basic understanding of library operations, including acquisitions, cataloging, and circulation processes.

Ability to work with accuracy and efficiency while handling multiple tasks. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in using technology, including computers and library software.
