Job description

Library Clerk - Casual
Duties
A Library Clerk issues and receives library materials, sorts and shelves books and provides general library information to users.  They may perform clerical functions.
The primary responsibilities of the position will be the cataloguing and classification of the school's Resource Centre material within the school.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Grade 12 diploma from a recognized educational institution or GED is required.
  • Formal training and/or related experience in the field of education or a library environment would be considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in the use of computers and software such as Microsoft Office, database systems, circulation and cataloguing in addition to other software currently used in the school division.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, display initiative and be adaptable to change.
  • Prioritize multiple demands, manage time efficiently and demonstrate superior organization skills.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality relative to students and school division operations.
  • Be willing to join the Local CUPE 4875 union.
Pay Range: $17.74 - $20.86 per hour
