Job description

Summary:

The café supervisor oversees daily operations of a Summer seasonal café offering pizza, ice cream and retail grab and go items. This role is responsible to lead the staff ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining food safety standards, and support of the sales and operational goals.

The ideal candidate is hands-on, organized and passionate about creating a welcoming guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily café staff during operations including pizza prep, ice cream service and retail sales.

Ensure fast friendly service.

Open and close the café including cash handling , POS operation and end of day procedures.

Monitor food quality.

Address customer and client concerns.

Work service line during operating hours.

Supervise pizza cook assisting in ordering and clerical duties.

Leadership:

Assist with hiring and on boarding new employees.

Assist with scheduling and managing schedules to insure all shifts are covered.

Enforce company policies and standards.

Food Safety:

Ensure compliance with sanitation and safety regulations.

Maintain cleanliness of operation including dining areas.

Conduct routine checks of all equipment and report maintenance needs.

Product inventory:

Monitor inventory levels of foods, ice cream and packaging.

Assist with ordering and stocking of supplies.

Maintain attractive retail displays.

Minimize waste and control food and labor costs.

Qualifications:

Prior supervisory experience in a food environment preferred.

Knowledge of pizza preparation and quick service operations a plus.

Strong customer service skills.

Ability to multitask in a customer facing environment.

Cash handling and POS system experience.

Flexible availability to include evenings , weekends, and holidays.

Ability to stand for prolonged periods and to lift up to 50 lbs.
