Work Study ERC Library Assistant

The Educational Resource Center (ERC) is a K-12 curriculum library that provides resources and services to support professional education programs at Bridgewater State University. The ERC Library Assistant Work will under the direction of the ERC Librarian and staff to assist in providing quality customer service to patrons. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide assistance to library users at the ERC Service Desk
  • Answer general questions in person and by phone
  • Assist with locating books, instructional kits, and other materials
  • Retrieve returned materials from Circulation
  • Reshelve ERC materials
  • Shelf-read and keep library shelves in order
  • Use the library management system to charge/discharge restricted-access standardized tests
  • Shift library materials as needed
  • Inventory kit parts upon their return
  • Put up and take down monthly displays
  • Enter data into ERC records/databases
  • Run errands for the ERC as needed
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned

Student employees in the ERC typically work shifts that total 4 to 6 hours per week. Preferred available hours are between 11 am and 2 pm on weekdays.

Eligibility requirements:

  • Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for a minimum of six credits for the Fall 2026 semester.
  • Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package
