About the Organization
Now is a great time to join Redhorse Corporation. We are a solution-driven company delivering data insights and technology solutions to customers with missions critical to U.S. national interests. We're looking for thoughtful, skilled professionals who thrive as trusted partners building technology-agnostic solutions and want to apply their talents supporting customers with difficult and important mission sets.
About the Role
Redhorse transforms the way government uses data and technology. To support this mission, we are seeking a DevOps Engineer to design, secure, and maintain the underlying infrastructure that powers national security applications. In this role, you will be responsible for the full lifecycle of DevSecOps tools, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of everything from operating systems to database packages. By addressing complex interoperability issues and implementing rigorous patching and certification processes, you will ensure that our government partners can develop and deploy software at the speed of the mission without sacrificing security.
Key Responsibilities
  • Create and maintain operating systems, communications software, and utility programs to support mission-critical environments.
  • Develop and maintain database packages, compilers, and assemblers.
  • Modify existing software and create special-purpose software to ensure maximum efficiency and integrity between systems and applications.
  • Lead the design, deployment, testing, and certification of DevSecOps infrastructure tools.
  • Oversee the daily operations and patching of all operating systems, support libraries, and components.
  • Manage application dependencies and resolve complex interoperability issues across the infrastructure.
  • Ensure the security and reliability of the DevSecOps pipeline through continuous monitoring and proactive maintenance.
  • Address system-level performance bottlenecks by optimizing utility programs and system components.

Required Experience/Clearance
  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in DevOps engineering or systems programming.
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, deployment, and operation of DevSecOps infrastructure.
  • Proven ability to create or modify special-purpose software to improve system efficiency.
  • Experience in patching and certifying infrastructure components within a secure government environment.

Desired Experience
We encourage all candidates who meet the basic requirements to apply, even if you do not have any of the following experience:
  • Hands-on experience with Redhorse-favored tools like GitLab for CI/CD and Jira for project management.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native technologies and providers such as Databricks or AWS.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Chef.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer or CompTIA Security+.
  • Experience working with big data frameworks like Apache Spark within a DevOps context.

The salary range provided for this position represents the anticipated base salary for successful candidates. Actual compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including relevant experience, education, certifications, skills, security clearance level, geographic location, market conditions, and internal equity.
