Job description

Assist the Office of Student Activities with administrative projects, including student events and programs, while allocating time each week to developing, gathering, and shaping social media content.Job Description

FUNCTIONS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

  • Provide administrative office and student reception support. Organize and expedite project workflow, respond to student inquiries and requests, schedule appointments, draft communications, organize and maintain storage, files and resources, conduct research and other related tasks.

  • Assist in organizing, scheduling and coordinating Student Activities sponsored programs, activities and services, i.e., disseminate information, assist with student outreach, and participate in the development of bulletins, fact sheets and promotional materials, develop forms, and other necessary and related duties

  • Assist in developing social media scripts, shooting content, and editing student activities events; working across departments in Student Affairs and the DEI Office.

  • Assist with all aspects of logistics planning for programs including coordination of transportation, special services, and refreshments as needed.

  • Create flyers, post announcements, and promote events via campus postings, social media, and email.

  • Assist in evaluation of programs and other data collection processes and activities.

  • Provide direct support to student organizations based on event collaborations.

  • Assist in the development, planning, facilitation of programs, activities, and future initiatives surrounding diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Assist professional staff in other related functions and assigned tasks for the Office of Student Activities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The position requires light physical effort. Frequent mobility and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Requires manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard, calculator, copier machine and other office equipment. The position requires close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less) abilities.

ENVIRONMENT:

  • Primary work within an indoor work environment while some events and activities will require working in an outdoor environment.

  • Occasional exposure to unpleasant elements such as noise, heat, cold and/or dust.

TIME COMMITMENT:

  • Must be able to work a minimum of 10 hours per week, designated Saturdays and evening hours to support programming schedule and commit to a standard work schedule every week (changes to work schedule must be cleared in advance with supervisor).
