Description

Groot Hospitality is seeking a creative, organized, and highly motivated Restaurant Social Media Coordinator to support the day-to-day management of designated restaurant social media channels. 

This hourly position is responsible for coordinating social content, assisting with photo and video shoots, publishing approved assets, supporting community management, tracking channel performance, and capturing on-site content at restaurant events and activations. 


The ideal candidate has hands-on social media and content creation experience, a strong visual point  of view, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced hospitality  environments. This role requires a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings, weekends,  holidays, and special events based on business needs. 


Responsibilities 

  • Help maintain designated restaurant social media channels, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, X, and LinkedIn. 
  • Schedule and publish approved social media content according to established content calendars. 
  • Assist with the planning and execution of culinary, beverage, seasonal, lifestyle, and brand-focused photo and video shoots. 
  • Coordinate shoot logistics with corporate marketing, restaurant operations, culinary teams, and external photographers or videographers. 
  • Develop shot lists, mood boards, creative references, and general content direction for restaurant photo and video shoots. 
  • Capture and curate photo and video content for social media, web, public relations, print, and other marketing channels. 
  • Provide on-site social media coverage during restaurant events, activations, menu launches, and other designated moments. 
  • Coordinate with on-site photo and video teams to ensure priority content is captured and delivered. 
  • Escalate guest service concerns, sensitive messages, or reputational issues to the Social Media Manager or appropriate operations/marketing team member. 
  • Assist with the development and execution of social media campaigns from ideation through publication. 
  • Meet regularly with the Social Media Manager to review content calendars, upcoming shoots, events, channel performance, and brand priorities. 
  • Brainstorm and research new social media concepts, potential brand partners, platform trends, and content ideas. 
  • Track and report on channel growth, engagement, reach, audience behavior, and content performance. 
  • Maintain organized content libraries, creative files, calendars, shot lists, and performance reports. 
  • Follow Groot Hospitality's brand standards, approval processes, and social media guidelines. 
  • Complete additional marketing and content-related responsibilities as assigned by the Social Media Manager. 

Requirements

  • One to three years of experience in social media, content creation, marketing, hospitality, entertainment, or a related field preferred. 
  • Previous experience supporting or managing social media channels for a restaurant, hospitality, lifestyle, or entertainment brand preferred. 
  • Experience assisting with or coordinating restaurant, food, beverage, or lifestyle photo and video shoots. 
  • Demonstrated ability to capture engaging, mobile-first photo and video content. 
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and other relevant social media platforms. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively with marketing, operations, culinary, public relations, and external creative partners. 
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills. 
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Experience with mobile editing tools and social content applications preferred.
