Job description

JOB SUMMARY
The Electronic Resources and Access Librarian promotes and supports learning through providing leadership for all aspects of discovery and access services for electronic and print resources. The librarian maintains current and correct bibliographic records for all resources through cataloging and deaccessioning and ensures the proper functioning of the SLSP. Additionally, this role supports student and faculty research by managing document delivery and interlibrary loans.
The position reports to the Dean of Library, Learning & Student Success while working collaboratively with other members of the library faculty and staff. This is a twelve-month full-time faculty position.
Qualifications
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree from an American Library Association (ALA) accredited master's program (MLS/MLIS).
  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in higher education.
  • Expertise in current cataloging and metadata practices and administration of SLSP systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to organize and maintain correct details of large amounts of information.
  • Enthusiasm for the learning culture of liberal arts institutions and for the mission of Columbia College.
  • Demonstrated experience providing collaborative leadership.
  • Evidence of effective organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Competence with business math and written and verbal communication suitable in a business or professional setting.
  • Skill in the use of Microsoft Office 365, utilizing Outlook, Word, Excel, and Microsoft Teams, or related software.
  • Marketing or promotional experience preferred, including graphic design or social media.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Requires sedentary work that involves walking, standing, lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis or routine keyboard operations.
