Job description

JOB SUMMARY:ย The Library Supervisor is a front-line management position responsible for supervising staff, coordinating daily library operations, and ensuring exceptional guest experiences.
Reporting to the Library Manager and serving as a member of the branch management team, this position helps maintain efficient operations, supports branch and system priorities, and contributes to the overall success of the library through effective leadership, collaboration, and service.

This position will be assigned toย the East Edmond Library, located at I-35 and East 15th Street in Edmond, OK.ย ย 

The hiring salary for this position is $51,521.60 annually.ย  This is a full-timeย position working 40 hours per week.ย  This position is exempt from the federal Fair Labor Standards Act.ย  The candidate should be available to work all hours the library is open, including some weekends and evenings and have specific availability to work Monday to Friday from 8:00 to 5:00 pm with one evening shift of 12:00 to 9:00 pm and a rotating weekend shift..*

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or GED; and
  • Five or more years of library experience working directly with the public.

OR

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; and
  • Two or more years of library experience working directly with the public.


HIGHLY PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Experience leading projects, committees, and initiatives.
  • Experience coaching, mentoring, and developing staff or volunteers.
  • Experience resolving complex guest situations or public concerns.
  • High level of comfort with technology, office software, library software, and online resources.
