Description
About the role You'll join the Brivo Access development team under the supervision of Billy Murphy and the Phoenix team, contributing to real engineering work from day one. This is a hands-on internship — you'll own meaningful projects, participate in the full agile cycle, and work alongside engineers who will challenge and support you throughout.





Key Responsibilities

What you'll work on
  1. Increase test coverage — Write and expand tests across core projects to strengthen reliability and give the team confidence when shipping.
  2. Remediate security vulnerabilities — Identify and resolve existing vulnerabilities — real security work that has a direct impact on Brivo's customers.
  3. Align component library with Figma — Close the gap between the component library and the Brivo Design System, improving consistency across the product.

How you'll work

  • Receive daily and weekly assignments from the Phoenix team and report on progress in standups
  • Participate fully in the team's agile process — standups, sprint planning, and sprint review
  • Use Brivo's standard development tools and follow the team's engineering practices



Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • Pursuing or completing a Bachelor's in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field
  • 1+ year(s) academic experience with software development programming languages (JavaScript preferred)
  • Experience using AI tools such as Claude or Copilot is a bonus!
  • Familiarity with AWS serverless lambda based development 
  • Understanding of web services and distributed systems
  • Passionate coder and persistent problem solver
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
