General Job Brief
The Student Library Aide assists the Head Librarian in library operations including but not limited to opening and closing the library; serving library users; maintaining a clean, orderly study environment; helping with basic computer issues; and performing other library tasks.
This role also requires a comprehensive understanding of and commitment to the unique Christian mission and vision of ACU to Transform Culture with Truth, and the ability to advance that mission and vision through the performance of its duties, including person-to-person mentorship and discipleship.
Typical Duties
Customer Service
โ€ข Help library users find and retrieve information (such as books from the shelves)
โ€ข Explain and market the library's resources and services to library users
โ€ข Troublesoot basic computer, printer, and copy machine issues and help people with Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Gmail, and related productivity applications
Library Operations
โ€ข Open and close the library
โ€ข Monitor library usage
โ€ข Enforce library policies
โ€ข Clean and straighten up the library
โ€ข Check resources in and out using the library's online catalog
โ€ข Shelve books and other library resources and ensure that they are in proper order
โ€ข Perform other library tasks as assigned

โ€ข Completing other duties and tasks with utmost integrity and professionalism, as directed, and not necessarily mentioned in this description, may be asked on a volunteer basis.

Education and Experience
Knowledge
โ€ข Basic to intermediate knowledge of computers, printers, and copy machines, especially Windows, Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Gmail, and related productivity applications

โ€ข Must be a full-time ACU student in good academic, financial, and conduct standing
โ€ข Experience working in libraries, retail, or tutoring preferred
โ€ข Must complete FAFSA
