Job description

Allient Inc. is in growth mode and currently seeking an Applications Engineer to join our team at our Corporate Headquarters in Buffalo, New York!

The Applications Engineer conducts and engages with customers on a defined set of applications and solutions to determine requirements related to some manufactured products including motors, drives, gearboxes and other Allient Inc. products and systems. This individual will serve as a liaison between Allient Inc. and its customers, distributors, and reps. Apply now!

Responsibilities:

• Promotes the value of Allied Motion and Allient Inc. products and services to the customers within the specified geographic territory with the goal of maximizing sales revenue growth and market penetration.

• Issue customer quotes and tracks the receipt of new orders, often acts as the day-to-day point of contact.

• Develops appropriate sales volume, pricing and standard margin forecasts and is able to capitalize on/compensate for market changes via price changes or share gain.

• Serves as a liaison to obtain and provide engineering specifications and related information and expedite material requisitions and production work orders.

• Provides technical assistance to interpret, analyze and resolve procurement, manufacturing, installation and field operating problems.

• Oversees product installation and trial operations and analyzes and resolves operating and other field problems related to customer installations.

• Prepares reports, maintains records, files and a references library incidental to the application of products. Keeps informed of new developments in relation to engineering fields as they relate to the division’s products.

• Trains in-house to gain a thorough understanding of Allied Motion and Allient Inc. products, applications, and specifications.

• Other duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical or Electrical.

• 3 – 8 years of work and/or intern/co-op experience with technical, manufactured products and systems.

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others at all levels

• Solid computer skills include MS Office, engineering design software such as Solidworks, MatLab, Altium, etc.

Work Environment:

• Mostly office-based but may visit the production floor or development lab for observations or conversation.

• May be required to operate a computer and/or other office devices.

• Occasionally may have to lift and/or transport items weighing between 10 and 40 pounds.

• This role requires some travel.
