Job Duties
The library is looking for a friendly, service oriented, and enthusiastic administrative assistant. The library is a fast-changing, technology rich workplace. Being willing to learn and being a self-starter are critical for this position. This position will work closely with the Library Director and with the rest of the staff on multiple activities.
The administrative assistant is often the first point of public contact for Preston Library by telephone, email and/or in person. Special attention to these opportunities for friendly and clear communication is essential to the library's mission and day-to-day operations.
The position reports to the Director of the library.
This is a part-time hourly position; ~26 hrs/week; schedule is flexible.
Job Duties:
• Respond to and manage room reservation system (25Live) requests for meeting rooms in Preston Library and support events set up
• Manage Physical Plant work orders for facilities maintenance, housekeeping
• Provide administrative support and process authorization forms for library staff members, travel, and/or special event planning
• Monitor library asset inventory
• Monitor library's public printers and replenish paper supply
• Coordinate with IT, as needed
• Support library communications and calendaring
• Sorting daily delivery of internal and external mail items
• Ordering and coordinating catering requests for building events
• Liaison with campus support services
• Provide support for ILL, as needed
• Provide support for the circulation, desk as needed
• Other duties as assigned

Required qualifications
• High School Diploma
• Competency with MS Office and a willingness to learn new systems and programs
• Excellent customer service orientation
• Self-motivated
