About the Role:

The Team:

The Index Governance Operations (IGO) Methodology Team at S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI) maintains the document library hosting all S&P DJI methodologies, policy documents, and related communications for S&P DJI indices. The team is responsible for the management and maintenance of the document library to adhere to regulatory and stylistic norms to ensure clients can clearly and transparently understand the objectives and mechanics of S&P DJI indices used as the benchmarks for investment products. In addition, the team owns and manages the systems and workflows defining the library.

You will join a team of professionals dedicated to providing accurate and understandable definitions of the indices and ensure that the documents containing those definitions adhere to all applicable existing (and potential) IOSCO and EU BMR regulations regarding clarity and disclosure. Your work will contribute to the design, management, and oversight of systems and workflows to ensure proper controls over the various procedures required for maintaining the library. The Analyst will enjoy exposure to multiple levels of the index business and work with colleagues around the world. Finally, the role will provide the Analyst the opportunity to help shape the S&P DJI methodology library systems and processes to address an increasingly complex regulatory environment.


Responsibilities and Impact:

The methodology team is looking for an Associate to support the systems and processes that support the methodology library. The role requires a highly motivated, multi-skilled individual with excellent systems, editorial, and project management skills.

The Associate will be responsible for, and expected to be an expert in, all methodology-related workflows (including the drafting of new index methodology documents, the maintenance of existing documents via ad-hoc and annual methodology review processes, and the revision of documents due to methodology change processes) for a segment of the S&P methodology document library. The role includes the following key responsibilities:

  • Owning and managing the document editorial review process
  • Implementing and overseeing workflows related to document library maintenance
  • Conduct editorial on annual methodology reviews and perform regular standard document maintenance
  • Work with relevant stakeholders such as IT and the wider IGO team to improve methodology related workflows
  • Working for continual improvement and efficiencies by attending and participating in system and workflow design and refinement in an AGILE framework

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $95,061 to $110,500. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual's geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

This role is eligible to receive additional S&P Global benefits.

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in the index business
  • Proficiency in the Atlassian suite of products, particularly JIRA and Confluence
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong project management skills to assume a leadership role in coordinating various internal groups through various methodology document workflows
  • Ability to work with globally located teams
  • Strong self-starter mentality, with a desire to drive processes and achieve results in a fast-paced environment working on multiple projects simultaneously

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum three years' experience working in finance, financial journalism, technical writing, editing, systems design & management, or related fields
  • Experience using Power Automate
  • Broad knowledge of global markets, spanning and including all asset classes
  • Knowledge of related content management systems
  • Experience working in an AGILE environment
  • Proficiency in coding/systems design and management
