The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 25 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.

Job Summary
The Associate Vice Chancellor is generally responsible for the overall budgetary, financial, operational, and personnel functions of multiple departments or programs within a division that have higher education system wide scope and impact. The Associate Vice Chancellor formally directs the work of multiple executive positions. The Associate Vice Chancellor reports to a Vice Chancellor.
This position reports within Real Estate and Facilities (REF), a unit of the USO Operations Division. REF provides strategic direction and leadership for the University System of Georgia in all areas of real estate and facilities management, including:
- Campus master planning
- Capital project development
- Real estate transactions
- Design and construction
- Facilities management and operations
- Capital renewal
- Environmental health and safety
Responsibilities
- Lead systemwide facilities data collection, validation, methodology development, analysis, and reporting, including future enhancements to data platforms and processes
- Oversee scoping and procurement for campus master planning initiatives and provide advisory support for planning projects
- Coordinate development and submission of institutional multi-year capital plans and annual capital renewal proposals
- Evaluate and refine proposed state-funded capital projects and capital renewal investments
- Develop prioritized annual funding recommendations for the Chancellor and Board of Regents
- Collaborate closely with Design and Construction teams to ensure projects align with approved programmatic intent and scope
- Provide advisory services and program oversight to support effective facilities operations, maintenance, and environmental health and safety
- Contribute to integrated reviews of non-state-funded capital investments and academic initiatives in partnership with cross-functional USO leadership
- Perform special analyses, reports, and projects as needed
- Carry out other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree required.
- Over five years of management experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree from an accredited institution in planning, data analytics, or a related field and at least ten (10) years of relevant leadership experience.
- Extensive experience in higher education facilities planning and space data management at a system or institutional level.
- Strong knowledge of capital planning processes, including project evaluation, scope development, and cost analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in analyzing and visualizing complex, multi-source datasets (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Power BI).
- Familiarity with industry-standard technologies used in campus space data management and analytics.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to navigate complex organizational environments.
