Position Overview:
  • Liberty Local Schools is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN will play a key role in promoting student health, providing direct nursing care, and collaborating with school staff, parents, and community resources to foster a healthy school environment. This position involves a range of responsibilities, including health assessments, health education, and emergency care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and monitor the health needs of students, conducting regular health screenings and evaluations.
  • Provide direct nursing care to students with chronic illnesses, injuries, and acute health needs.
  • Develop and implement individual healthcare plans in collaboration with students, families, and healthcare providers.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential health records and documentation in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Educate students and staff on health-related issues, including nutrition, hygiene, and disease prevention.
  • Serve as a liaison between students, families, and healthcare resources, offering guidance and support.
  • Respond to medical emergencies and provide first aid as necessary, including activating emergency response protocols.
  • Participate in health promotion activities and initiatives within the school community.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a safe and healthy school environment, addressing health-related issues promptly.

Qualifications:
  • Valid and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Ohio.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) acceptable.
  • Previous nursing experience, preferably in a school or pediatric setting, is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with students, families, and staff.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of child development, health issues in school-aged children, and relevant laws/regulations pertaining to school health services.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid.

Physical Requirements:
