Job Summary

JOB SUMMARY
This position provides budget and financial support to both the Health Department and Benton and Linn Community Health Centers. These two areas represent the largest portion of the County budget with a biennial budget of approximately $120 million and includes nearly 300 FTE. The goal of this position is to help the Health Department and Community Health Centers reach their specific goals and objectives, while still maintaining a high degree of accountability, compliance, and financial efficiency. This position reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer and is part of the Financial Service Department management team in developing, implementing and maintaining strategic initiatives related to internal controls, process improvement, and risk management that have an impact on the entire County.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
The following minimum qualifications are required for this position:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, business or finance AND
  • 2 years of experience in finance, accounting, or budget analysis and/or management.

An equivalent combination of education and experience may be accepted. Please note candidates must have at least 6 months of actual work experience to be considered as equivalent.

The Ideal Candidate
  • Experience in grant and/or government accounting.
  • Experience or familiarity with budget or finance specific to public health, behavioral health, and/or medical care programs
  • Advanced degree or certification
  • Good skills in development, analyzing, and/or monitoring complex budgets and financial statements
  • Intermediate to advanced skill level in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Intermediate skill level using enterprise-wide accounting software
