Job description

Job Title: Field Services Installation Site Lead Technician
Reports To: Regional Field Services Manager
FLSA Status: Hourly, Nonexempt
SUMMARY: LogistiQ Integration Solutions is a fast-growing conveyor equipment supplier for customers in retail, ecommerce amp; distribution located in Port Clinton, Ohio. With deep roots in American ingenuity, LogistiQ has the experience of a 100-year-old company but operates much like a start-up with high energy and nimble speed.
Our company is in search of a proficient Field Service Installation Site Lead to manage the installation of conveyor systems and direct our on-site mechanical and controls technicians. This positions plays a vital role in guaranteeing the projects are finalized on time, within budget, and to the complete satisfaction of our clients, all the while upholding supreme quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: (Other duties may be assigned)
  • Direct and manage the day-to-day activities of on-site mechanical and controls technicians, ensuring high-quality workmanship
  • Act as the primary liaison between the on-site team and the Field Project Manager, ensuring clear communication and project alignment
  • Ensure all installations and maintenance activities meet project specifications, safety regulations, and quality standards
  • Supervise and coordinate the training and instruction of technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and safety
  • Oversee project schedule, making necessary adjustments to meet deadlines and reporting daily/weekly progress to the Field Project Manager
  • Manage hours worked by the team to stay within the project’s scope and budget
  • Troubleshoot and resolve on-site technical issues promptly
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Plan and schedule project tasks in alignment with the milestone installation timeline(s), assigning responsibilities to ensure efficient completion of the project milestones
  • Train and mentor team members in best practices for conveyor system installation and maintenance
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders, ensuring a professional work environment
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certifications preferred
  • Valid drivers license and driving record that facilitates automobiles insurance company policy
  • 7+ years of experience in a supervisory role within the mechanical and electrical installation field, with a strong preference for those with conveyor industry experience
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in managing field service teams and ensuring project success
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and schematics
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of managing internal and external relationships effectively
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, project management software, and familiarity with Autodesk products, ERP, and CRM systems
  • Willingness to travel to client sites frequently, up to 90%
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
  • Must be fluent in reading and writing English, with the ability to read and interpret technical documents and communicate effectively with team members and clients. Understanding of Spanish is a plus.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office products
  • Adequate skill in navigating and working with the company’s ERP and CRM software
  • Proficient typing skills are required
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • This role requires the ability to use hand and power tools, lift items up to 50 pounds, climb ladders, and operate fork and scissor lifts safely.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts with a moderate noise level. Compliance with proper safety standards per OSHA regulations is mandatory.
