Job description

A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available for this position for a limited time. Candidates must be hired by July 31, 2026, to be eligible. LEWCO reserves the right to modify or discontinue this offer at any time.
SUMMARY: LEWCO, Inc. is seeking a Powered Conveyor Assembler to join our team. This position is responsible for assembling conveyor systems and related equipment using hand tools, blueprints, and work instructions to meet production and quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assemble company products at standard production rates
  • Use appropriate tools and equipment to support the assembly process
  • Read and interpret Job Operation Listing Reports
  • Follow written work instructions and complete required quality documentation
  • Accurately enter job transactions using shop floor data collection devices
  • Interpret mechanical drawings to assemble company products
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical and operational assembly issues on standard and non-standard products
  • Perform required quality checks
  • Travel may be required on an occasional basis
  • Perform other duties as assigned
VALUE ADDED RESPONSIBILITIES (Not Required):
  • Perform basic electrical wiring as needed to support assembly
  • Cut and fit conduit and other industrial wiring pathways
  • Interpret schematics to assemble hydraulic, pneumatic, and fuel gas systems
  • Mentor entry-level assemblers
  • Lead assembly teams on larger or more complex projects
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None. However, assemblers who support their supervisor in guiding team members may be considered for a Cell Leader role.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Ability to successfully complete pre-employment assessment testing
  • Ability to accurately read a tape measure to within 1/16"
Preferred:
  • 3–5 years of experience in mechanical equipment assembly
  • Proficiency in the use of measuring equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings with minimal assistance
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerances
  • Knowledge of power transmission components and assembly best practices
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
REQUIRED SKILLS:
  • Basic reading and writing proficiency
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
  • Ability to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals
  • Basic computer skills, including keyboarding and printing documents
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the non-air conditioned work environment is usually moderate. Required personal protective equipment (PPE), including steel-toe shoes, must be worn at all times. Employees are expected to maintain a clean and organized work area.
