Job description

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is looking for hands-on, automotive professionals who thrive in a fast-paced, high-tech environment! PDW is now hiring Experienced Automotive Mechanics to work with a leading Tier 1 automotive supplier, building experimental prototypes and performing cutting-edge retrofits. This Full-time Experienced Automotive Mechanic position offers an AM day shift plus overtime as needed and is based in Allen Park, MI. Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain prototype vehicles
  • Perform a variety of mechanical, electrical and diagnostic tasks
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs
  • Work closely with engineers and test teams to troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain accurate repair and service documentation
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment
Shift:
  • AM day shift: 6:45 am-3:30 pm (Monday – Friday + overtime as needed)
  • PM night shift: 3:15 pm - 1:15 pm (Monday – Friday + overtime as needed)
Requirements:
  • Minimum 4-years of hands-on automotive mechanic experience working in a shop environment
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Familiarity with basic automotive systems (removing the dashboard and replacing airbags, engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, etc.)
  • Mechanical ability to operate shop equipment
  • Must own your own tools with a rolling lockable toolbox (Don’t worry—we offer a toolbox program if needed!)
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, schematics and written procedures
  • Technical experience in automotive, diesel, electronics or similar fields strongly preferred
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Must have reliable attendance and the willingness to work overtime/weekends
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • ASE certifications
  • Ford experience
  • Prototype/Retro-fit experience
