Job description

We're Hiring: Workforce Expert

Help People Find Jobs. Build Futures. Change Lives.

Do you believe everyone deserves meaningful work and a fair shot at success? Are you the kind of person who can turn a resume into a confidence boost and a job search into a life-changing moment?

The Worker is looking for a Workforce Expert to join our team and work closely with our Chief Programs Officer (CPO) to advance our mission, vision, and growth. This role is perfect for someone who loves connecting with people, navigating resources, and making a real impact-one person at a time.

What You'll Do

As a Workforce Expert, you'll be a guide, advocate, and cheerleader for individuals on their employment journey. Your work will include:

  • Supporting clients one-on-one with resumes, mock interviews, job leads, and essential resources like transportation and professional clothing

  • Helping clients create and follow personalized employment plans aligned with their goals

  • Providing ongoing encouragement and accountability through regular check-ins

  • Building strong relationships with community partners and local employers

  • Staying in the know about community resources, job opportunities, and social services

  • Attending job fairs, networking events, and community meetings

  • Using a trauma-informed, person-centered approach that treats every guest with dignity and respect

  • Advocating fiercely for clients to access the services they need

  • Keeping accurate documentation, case notes, and outcome tracking

  • Auditing resources monthly and collaborating with the CPO to keep records accurate

  • Sharing one monthly client success story with our Development Team (yes-feel-good moments included!)

  • Participating in quarterly staff meetings and occasional evening or weekend events

What You Bring

You might be a great fit if you have:

  • Excellent communication and organization skills

  • The ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Strong advocacy skills and confidence navigating community resources

  • A judgment-free approach and comfort working with diverse populations

  • Your own vehicle, valid driver's license, and current insurance/registration

  • Flexibility to travel between sites and work occasional evenings/weekends

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card

  • Bonus points if you're bilingual in Spanish!

Education & Experience
  • BS in Social Work or a related field preferred (but not required)

  • At least 2 years of experience in a related field

  • Direct service experience (professional or volunteer) strongly preferred

Why You'll Love Working Here

At The Worker, we believe employment is more than a paycheck-it's dignity, stability, and hope. You'll be part of a compassionate, mission-driven team that values people, stories, and progress.

If you're ready to do meaningful work that truly matters, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today and help us build pathways to employment-together.
