LEVEL DESIGN INTERN
What You'll Do
Epic Games is looking for a Level Design intern to work with our gameplay team on an unannounced project in the Fortnite ecosystem. In this role, you'll be embedded with the gameplay team, helping to craft gameplay spaces that delight players with fresh experiences. As an intern, you will work closely with the Level Design team here at Epic, and be a part of a cross-discipline development team that owns the vision and drives to create innovative content which expands the Fortnite universe.
In this role, you will
  • Work closely with level designers and environment artists to learn what makes successful landmarks and POIs
  • Work in the Unreal Engine using modular kits to design visually appealing and fun locations that follow gameplay rules
  • Assist other designers by helping improve existing landmarks and POIs
  • Attend playtests, provide feedback, and identify practical solutions to problems
What we're looking for
  • Unreal Engine experience is required
  • Direct involvement with prop placement, lighting, mood/atmosphere and design markup
  • Passion for games with a wide breadth of game knowledge
  • Strong interest in BR and multiplayer games with an understanding of what makes them work
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to take feedback and direction on assigned tasks
  • Fast learner who meets deadlines

This internship has a flexible start date in 2027. Recruitment will be ongoing until teams find an ideal match.
