Qorvo's Defense & Aerospace Products MMIC Design Engineer Internships is offered in our High Performance Analog business group. Specific projects and responsibilities will be determined based on the business needs at the time of the internship assignment and intern capability.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Learning how to design Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs) in GaAs and/or GaN to meet customer specifications
  • Meeting MMIC performance requirements while also considering size, cost, footprint, critical specifications, and schedule
  • Partnering with technicians to perform measurements as needed
  • Design and test of MMICs. Theis may be one of the following: Power Amplifiers, Low Noise Amplifiers, Switches, Attenuators, Phase Shifters, and TDUs.
  • Potential to work with:
    • Microwave test equipment which may include the following: Signal generators, spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, load-pull setups, power supplies and power meters
    • Circuit design, simulation, and layout
    • Scripting within simulation environments to drive improved design automation based on learned concepts

Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering. Minimum GPA of 3.5
  • RF/microwave and analog integrated-circuit design course work and/or experience
  • Exposure to RF measurement equipment as described above
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) or Keysight ADS
  • Software Exposure: ADS, Microwave Office, HFSS, Momentum, Axiem, Sonnet. 3D CAD, Mechanical FEA, and Matlab are a plus
  • Scripting Exposure: Python or similar
  • Self-motivated with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Effective organization skills for systematic planning and scheduling
  • Willing to learn something new, listen to suggestions and ideas, and build on such concepts

This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship by the Company.
This position requires a Security Clearance. Applicant must be a US Citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a US Government security clearance.
Competitive hourly pay commensurate with experience: $31/hr - $42/hr (subject to change dependent on physical location)
Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Qorvo reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as external competitiveness and internal comparability.
