Job description

Scope of Work: Servicepoint has a customer seeking Level 3 Network Engineer for a 3 month temp to hire 100% onsite position located in Arlington TX. This would be working normal business hours Monday-Friday. We are looking for a strong Level 3 Network Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in routing, switching, and troubleshooting within complex environments. In addition to technical strength, this role requires some leadership experience and the ability to operate at a higher level within the organization. While this is not a formal management role, we are looking for someone who can act as a technical leader and represent the team confidently at all levels of the organization. The ideal candidate should have:
  • Proven experience leading projects or initiatives end-to-end
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior engineers while influencing technical direction
  • Strong ownership mindset and the ability to drive complex issues to resolution
  • Experience coordinating across teams and managing major incident response
  • Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and present to upper management
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, business-focused messaging
  • ACI Fabric Leadership: Design and manage a Multi-Pod/Multi-Site Cisco ACI environment. Oversee the configuration of Tenants, VRFs, Bridge Domains, ESGs, EPGs, and Contracts
  • Security & Segmentation: Architect and deploy segmentation strategies within the Data Center to prevent lateral movement of threats.
  • Tier 3 Escalation: Serve as the final point of escalation for complex network outages (L1-L7). Conduct deep-dive root cause analysis (RCA) using packet capture and advanced telemetry
  • Maintain computer networks including routers, switches, VPNs and other physical hardware/software
  • Monitor systems to improve network performance for all systems
  • Troubleshoot, resolve, and communicate networking issues to other employees and management
  • Research, install, configure and upgrade network hardware and software
  • Create firewall rules and update software and data security systems to keep data and communications protected
  • Implement disaster recovery procedures
  • Improve knowledge and understanding of network and security best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
  • Provide on-site support for projects that require on-site installation and support
  • Design and implement new network solutions and/or improving the efficiency of current networks
  • Conducts all business in a professional and ethical manner to serve customers and increase the goodwill and profit of the company
  • Participate in on-call rotation
  • Ability to travel overnight
  • Regular and reliable attendance

Additional responsibilities are as follows:
  • Leadership: Ability to mentor Level 1/2 engineers and lead cross-functional project teams
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to translate business compliance requirements into technical network policies
  • Communication: Proven ability to explain complex SDN concepts to non-technical stakeholders and executive leadership
  • Improve knowledge and understanding of network and security best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
  • Additional duties as assigned

Requirements:
  • Must have reliable transportation for some travel to other locations
  • Experience: 8-10+ years in Enterprise Networking, with at least 3+ years of hands-on ACI and SD-WAN production experience
  • Certifications: CCIE (Data Center or Enterprise) is highly preferred. CCNP (Data Center) or Cisco Certified Specialist in ACI/SD-WAN is required
  • Networking Protocols: Expert knowledge of BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, and MPLS
  • SDN Tools: Deep familiarity with Cisco APIC, vManage, vSmart, and vBond controllers
  • Security: Strong experience with Firewalls (Cisco)
  • Advanced understanding of network services and networks protocols (to include but not limited to): BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, HSRP, VRRP, VRF, VTP, DHCP, DNS
  • Advanced understanding and practical knowledge of networking systems such as routers and switches and firewalls
  • Working knowledge with Cisco IOS and Nexus NX-OS
  • Advanced understanding of OSI model and troubleshooting of technology related issues
  • Able to work well in a fast-paced environment and be comfortable in stressful situations
  • Effectively communicate with management and non-technical personnel on any technology issue to ensure they understand the nature of the issue and current statue easily understood on any outage conference calls
  • Detail oriented self-motivated goal driven
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate networks, identify issues and provide solutions to ensure networks are operating efficiently
  • Ability to implement and troubleshoot network and security infrastructure
