Job description

The mid-level lethality analyst candidate will provide direct support to the lethality group, overall skills:
  • Technical ability to run endgame lethality codes, such as KWEval and BALAGAN, produce output, and generate briefings and reports on findings
  • Technical ability to interpret code output, identify trends, assess code stability, assess output integrity, inform code updates where needed
  • Technical ability to support lethality M&S accreditation efforts. Regular and valuable interaction and coordination with a team: emails, VTC and face-to-face meetings, status updates, TIMs, briefings and other contractual requirements.
  • Self-motivated, possess strong oral and written communication skills, and have the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, technically advanced, team environment.
  • Skill to track program status, and adapt to changing/evolving milestones

Basic Qualifications
  • BS (minimum) MS (desired) degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering, or Physics/Math Minimum 5 years of direct experience in modeling simulation and analysis, preferably lethality tools

Core Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in C++ and Python, with experience developing reliable, production-quality software.
  • Hands-on data analysis experience using pandas and matplotlib for data cleaning, transformation, and visualization.
  • Experience with multi-fidelity modeling, including leveraging higher-fidelity models to inform the development of lower-fidelity, faster-running algorithms without sacrificing critical accuracy.
  • Familiarity with Parquet file formats, including reading, writing, parsing, and manipulating Parquet files in both C++ and Python.
  • Strong foundation in probabilistic science, including statistical modeling, uncertainty quantification, and probability-driven algorithm design.
  • Exceptional algorithm documentation skills, clearly explaining logic, assumptions, and design
  • Experience designing and/or using mission planning software.
  • Systems engineering experience, preferably in the Defense industry, including:
  • Assessing and communicating software and system requirements
  • Designing and executing verification strategies to ensure requirements are met
  • Understanding the integration of software components within larger system architectures

Additional Skills
  • Experience with TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Keras (ML workflows, data preprocessing, model evaluation).
  • SQL/database querying background, including relational modeling, filtering, and query optimization.
  • Skilled in MS Office products, including development of Excel scripts for data analysis and plotting. Proficient in creating engagement scenarios taking system performance definitions and running in fast-running codes, such as KWEval and BALAGAN.
