Job description

Your Impact at LILA

Lila Sciences is expanding its physical footprint and upgrading the facilities that power its research. As Project Manager on the Facilities Management team, you will own the end-to-end delivery of capital projects - from lab buildouts and HVAC upgrades to new site development - that directly enable Lila's scientific operations.

Reporting to the Director of Capital Projects, you will manage the full project lifecycle: scoping, planning, budgeting, vendor and contractor management, permitting, and closeout. You will partner closely with scientific, operations, engineering, and EHS teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.

This role sits at the intersection of construction execution and scientific infrastructure. You will bring order and accountability to complex, multi-stakeholder projects in a fast-moving environment where the quality of the facilities directly affects the quality of the science.

What You'll Be Building

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of capital projects - including lab buildouts, renovations, HVAC/MEP upgrades, and new site development - from scoping through closeout
  • Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, budgets, and risk registers; identify and resolve issues before they affect cost or timeline
  • Manage vendors, architects, and general contractors; hold external partners accountable for quality, safety, and on-schedule delivery
  • Partner with scientific, operations, engineering, and EHS teams to align project scope with research and operational requirements
  • Own permitting, inspections, and regulatory compliance across all active projects; ensure adherence to applicable safety standards and building codes
  • Support capital planning by contributing project data, cost forecasts, and lessons learned to inform future facility investments

What You'll Need to Succeed

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience managing facilities capital projects, with a track record of delivering complex construction or infrastructure projects on time and within budget
  • Experience delivering projects in a lab, cleanroom, or technical facility environment
  • Demonstrated experience managing vendors, architects, and general contractors across the full project lifecycle
  • Working knowledge of MEP systems, construction methods, and building systems relevant to technical or laboratory environments
  • Strong proficiency in project planning, budget management, and contract administration
  • Clear communicator with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams

Bonus Points For

  • Background in biotech, pharma, or R&D facility environments
  • Familiarity with permitting processes and regulatory requirements for life sciences or research facilities
  • Experience supporting capital planning and portfolio-level cost forecasting
  • PMP or equivalent project management certification
