The Opportunity

Lesley University is seeking a part-time, nine-month Temporary Core Faculty of Studio Arts (Printmaking) to join our undergraduate Studio Arts program. The Temporary Core Faculty member will focus on teaching introductory and intermediate courses that introduce students to core processes such as relief, intaglio, lithography, screenprinting, and monotype, while integrating principles of design, composition, and critical inquiry. The Temporary Core Faculty member develops course materials, delivers demonstrations, leads critiques, and evaluates student work, supporting both technical skill development and conceptual growth. In addition to teaching, the faculty member is responsible for maintaining a safe, well-organized printmaking studio environment, which includes instruction in proper use of presses, tools, inks, and materials, adherence to safety protocols, and general upkeep of shared facilities. The role includes supporting curricular continuity within the program, collaborating with studio art colleagues, and contributing to critiques, reviews, and department activities as appropriate. The successful candidate will demonstrate broad technical expertise across traditional and contemporary printmaking practices, possess an active commitment to teaching excellence, and connect studio practice with critical and historical contexts in the field.

  • Broad technical knowledge of traditional and contemporary printmaking processes (relief, intaglio, lithography, screenprinting)

  • Evidence of an active studio practice and engagement in the field

  • Strong teaching, communication, and collaboration skills, with the ability to support diverse learners
