Job description

The Opportunity
Lesley University invites applications for adjunct faculty to teach upcoming online and in-person classes within our Trauma and Learning (LIFTS) certificate program at the graduate level. Courses within this program support educators to create trauma sensitive learning environments. The five LIfTS courses on the Impact of Trauma on Learning are primarily taught in-person in districts or virtually as a Fall II, Spring II and a Summer intensive.
Since adjunct faculty positions are ongoing, evergreen positions, your materials will remain on file and will be reviewed on an as-needed basis throughout the upcoming semesters. By submitting your application, you will be put into consideration for current and future adjunct positions within the Center for Inclusive and Special Education for LIfTS courses. We hire adjunct faculty on a regular cadence to support our Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters. The specific course hired for is subject to change depending on semester, course catalog, and Center needs.

The Lesley Institute for Trauma Sensitivity (LIFTS) strives to promote the development of safe and supportive educational environments, using a whole-child, whole-school, trauma-sensitive approaches. We partner with diverse schools locally, nationally, and globally. In these partnerships, we have witnessed remarkable outcomes that include fewer office referrals, fewer suspensions, stronger classroom communities, and better support networks for educators.
Qualities & Capabilities
Required:
  • Master's degree in Education, or a related field
  • 5+ years of successful teaching experience at the PreK-12 level
  • Knowledge of and competence with basic tenets of social justice education
  • Experience in constructivist, inquiry-based learning with an emphasis on culturally and linguistically responsive pedagogy

Preferred:
  • Successful completion of the LIfTS certificate
  • Demonstrated successful experience teaching at the graduate level
