Job description

Education/Certification Required:

  • High School diploma or GED and a minimum of 48 college hours.

Experience Required

  • Experience in work with children.

Personal Qualifications:

  • Works cooperatively with others.
  • Communicates effectively in oral and written forms.

Function

Works with At-Risk students to provide assistance with requirements necessary for enrollment in post secondary education (admission to colleges and universities).

Reports To:

School Principal

Responsibilities:

  • Assists teachers in preparing, organizing, and/or assembling teaching materials.
  • Assists teachers with record keeping.
  • Assists teachers in preparation of bulletin board.
  • Attends and participates in staff development programs.
  • Maintains a daily working schedule as determined by the principal and teachers.
  • Serves as a liaison between the school, home and community.
  • Works with individuals and/or groups of students to reinforce Skills being taught by the teachers.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
  • Assists teacher with supervision of children in the classroom, cafeteria, and on the playground.
