Job description

Leopard is a growing B2B Insurtech platform, now part of Coventry, the market leader in life settlements. We're on a mission to reinvent how life insurance and annuities are built, distributed, and experienced, and are seeking a full-time Lead QA Engineer who is excited to help us build the next-generation, AI-native life insurance platform
In this role, you will own our QA automation and process in close collaboration with our CTO and Engineering Lead as we build and scale our platform and learn and iterate on what QA and vulnerability testing look like in an agent-first development environment. You will directly impact how insurers, distributors, and clients work with life insurance - transforming a traditionally complex, paper-heavy industry into one that feels modern, data-driven, and intelligent.
We're looking for people who are passionate about agent-assisted development, energized by solving hard problems with AI and automation, and motivated to help build an engineering culture where experimentation, ownership, and learning are primary values. Development is changing, and we are looking for people who simultaneously have high standards for work quality and the flexibility to propose and adapt new tools and processes as they go from novel to essential.
If you want to be part of a high-performing team with room for outsized growth, deep ownership, and the chance to help set the standard for an AI-native insurance platform, this is the opportunity for you.
In your first six months on the Leopard team, you will:
  • Build new testing automations for unit, regression, and end-to-end tests
  • Partner with and lead our current nearshore QA engineer on improving our overall testing and release process with an eye to keeping up with the increasing scope and size of agent-assisted PRs
  • Design and implement the initial security testing infrastructure, moving beyond vulnerability detection and periodic penetration tests
  • Contribute to our company roadmap, developing ideas on new features and models, and help Leopard grow into the leading platform for life and annuities distribution

A little about you:
  • 5-7 years of professional engineering experience alongside a Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar
  • Strong problem-solving skills, you make reasonable decisions independently
  • Deep knowledge of Typescript, Jest, and Playwright, and some tool-agnostic knowledge of application security
  • Spent significant time and effort over the last year experimenting with and building an LLM code generation and agentic tooling development process
  • Ship high-quality work in a hybrid, fast-paced, B2B SaaS environment
  • Owned projects end-to-end and delivered them by hitting key milestones
  • Have great communication skills; you work well with others, and you own your work

Extra Points:
  • Experience in, or familiarity with, the life insurance industry
  • Early-stage startup experience
  • Professional working proficiency in Spanish

Salary range:
The base salary range for this role is $150,000 - $175,000. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the salary range for this position. Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, experience, and expected performance. The range listed is just one component of Coventry's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include long and short-term incentives and equity awards. In addition, Leopard provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, a 401(k) program, free breakfast, snacks, and drinks in-office, paid holidays, and encouraged paid time off (PTO).
About Leopard:
Leopard is an insurance technology platform built to revolutionize the life insurance and annuity markets.
