Senior Systems Engineer — Space ISR
Location: Aurora, CO
Work Arrangement: Onsite
Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI
Employer: Legion Technical Solutions
Legion Technical Solutions has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer to support one of our client’s premier programs within its Space Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance organization.
This is an opportunity to contribute to a complex, mission-critical space program where your systems engineering expertise will directly support requirements development, architecture and design elaboration, system analysis, interface definition, test planning, and technical execution.
The position is onsite in Aurora, Colorado, and requires an active and transferable TS/SCI clearance before starting.
What You’ll Do
  •  Analyze system behavior and develop operational use cases.
  •  Decompose system requirements into clear and actionable lower-level requirements.
  •  Define and manage system interfaces.
  •  Determine how requirements will be verified and validated by the test organization.
  •  Support requirements, architecture, and system-design development.
  •  Provide systems engineering support for program test activities.
  •  Help define test processes, program baselines, and test architecture.
  •  Support regression testing across program baseline releases.
  •  Participate in technical reviews, engineering meetings, and technical interchange meetings.
  •  Collaborate with software, test, architecture, and program stakeholders in an Agile environment.
Required Qualifications
  •  Bachelor’s degree in systems, mechanical, aerospace, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
  •  At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  •  Experience across the systems engineering lifecycle, including one or more of the following:
    •  Concept of Operations development
    •  Requirements definition and management
    •  Functional analysis
    •  Interface definition and control
  •  Systems engineering experience supporting a government contract.
  •  Experience in a relevant mission domain, such as:
    •  Mission-management ground systems
    •  Space-based ISR platforms
    •  Satellite ground systems
    •  Command-and-control systems
  •  Understanding of Agile principles, roles, and systems engineering practices.
  •  Active and transferable U.S. government-issued TS/SCI clearance before starting.
  •  U.S. citizenship, as required for security-clearance eligibility.
  •  Ability to work onsite in Aurora, Colorado.
Preferred Qualifications
  •  Experience working in an Agile development environment.
  •  Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, or similar development tools.
  •  Experience with model-based systems engineering and Cameo Systems Modeler.
  •  Requirements-management experience using DOORS or a comparable requirements database.
  •  Experience supporting system verification, validation, integration, or regression testing.
  •  Recent experience with classified space, ISR, or mission-management programs.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
This position offers the opportunity to work on a premier national-security space program alongside experienced systems, software, architecture, and test professionals. You will contribute across the systems engineering lifecycle while helping deliver capabilities that support critical space ISR missions.
