Job description

Our fast-paced law firm is seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Legal Assistant to support our attorneys and paralegals in providing exceptional client service. This role involves opening new case files in the firm's CRM, managing office communications (including phone calls, emails, and correspondence), coordinating meetings, and monitoring critical deadlines. The ideal candidate has prior experience in a legal / office environment, thrives in a dynamic setting, and is looking for a meaningful, long-term role in the legal field. Kennebunk location.

Compensation:

$20 - $23 hourly commensurate with experience


Responsibilities:
  • Opening and closing case files (physical files and CRM management)
  • Processing and updating court filings and notices
  • Monitoring inboxes (email, integrations) and triaging communications
  • Tracking key deadlines and case milestones
  • Coordinating and communicating with attorneys
  • Calls to courts and handling incoming calls
  • Scheduling attorney–client meetings and appointments

Qualifications:
  • A college degree is preferred, but we will accept significant legal work experience
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of previous experience working in a law firm or professional office environment performing administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, and using CRM software
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines with quick turnaround times
  • Some knowledge of legal software, case management, and docketing programs is preferred
  • Proficient in Mac computer OS, Apple Mail, and Google Suite
  • Ability to work on a team
  • Strong customer service, organization, and problem-solving skills
