Job description

We are looking for a Legal Assistant to support our law firm client on a Contract basis. This role will provide high-level administrative support to a busy corporate legal practice, working closely with multiple attorneys and a business team member. The ideal candidate brings strong organizational judgment, effective communication, and the ability to keep pace with competing deadlines in a fast-moving office environment.


Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to a corporate legal team, ensuring attorneys and business staff receive timely and accurate support.

• Manage calendars, coordinate meetings, and help maintain smooth scheduling across a group of nine attorneys and one business team member.

• Prepare, edit, format, and finalize legal and business documents with a high degree of accuracy and strong word processing ability.

• Handle inbound calls, route messages appropriately, and serve as a reliable point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

• Enter, update, and maintain records, correspondence, and other administrative documentation in an organized manner.

• Offer shared team support during periods of increased workload, including coverage for seasonal staffing needs.

• Monitor multiple requests at once, prioritize assignments effectively, and follow through on deadlines with minimal supervision.

• Prior experience in an administrative support role, preferably within a corporate legal or services environment.
• Demonstrated ability to support several team members simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
• Advanced word processing and typing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality documents efficiently.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and a proactive approach to sharing updates or raising issues.
