Amazon Legal Technologies is seeking a Software Development Engineer II to join our team building mission-critical services that transform how legal and business operations work at Amazon. Our systems process over millions transactions annually, serving thousands of daily users. We manage the contract lifecycle across Amazon.
As an SDE II, you'll design and deliver features that directly impact how Amazon makes critical business decisions

You'll work across our full technology stack-from feature-rich web portals where users create and manage workflows using templates, to APIs serving hundreds of active clients, to notification systems for real-time updates. You'll leverage AI technologies to improve customer experience, automate routine operations, and drive efficiency gains across the organization.

Instrument code with metrics to drive data-driven decisions
Build AI-driven features that reduce processing time and automate routine decisions
Leverage AI to Transform Operations
Collaborate and Grow
Partner with Legal, Finance, and business teams to solve workflow challenges
Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews
Learn from senior engineers and Principal Engineers through design reviews
Drive adoption of new capabilities across the organization
Operational Excellence
Participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 reliability
Monitor system health and respond to operational issues
Use metrics to identify improvement opportunities
Maintain systems built on NAWS infrastructure.
