About the Opportunity

A well-established law firm is seeking a detail oriented and analytical Legal Assistant to join its Beaumont office. This position provides legal, administrative, and property research support to attorneys and office staff in a fast paced, team-oriented environment.


This is more than a traditional Legal Assistant role. The ideal candidate enjoys research, interpreting legal and property related documents, working with data, and following established processes. The successful candidate will possess excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy.


Essential Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and operational support to attorneys and office staff.
  • Prepare, review, organize, and maintain legal and business related documents.
  • Conduct property research using public records and internal resources.
  • Review and interpret deeds, legal descriptions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
  • Maintain accurate records, databases, and tracking systems.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel and internal databases to organize and analyze information.
  • Assist with document management, electronic filing, scanning, and records retention.
  • Coordinate communications with clients, vendors, and external contacts.
  • Respond professionally to inquiries by phone, email, and in person.
  • Schedule meetings, appointments, and business activities as needed.
  • Support process driven workflows while meeting established deadlines.
  • Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or related education preferred.
  • One or more years of experience in a legal office, title company, real estate office, county clerk's office, appraisal district, or similar professional office environment preferred.
  • Experience reviewing legal documents, deeds, legal descriptions, property records, or pleadings is highly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience using Oracle or similar database systems is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work accurately with numbers, documents, and detailed information.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and thrive in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and attention to detail.
