Description:

As a member of the Firm's Revenue/Legal Project Management Group, the Pricing and Legal Project Management Senior Analyst will work closely with attorneys to develop and track comprehensive and realistic budgets, assist with the finance portion of RFP responses, and prepare and provide client and attorney-requested reports and data. This position will also assist in establishing best practices and operational procedures to ensure client relationship and matter support. This position will collaborate with Firm leaders, Finance, Business Intake, IT, and other departments.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Provides detailed input for plans and budgets that meet client needs and Firm profit objectives using budgeting software such as Clocktimizer and MatterWorks, as well as Excel templates, and monitors performance against actuals, particularly where Alternative Fee Arrangements are being proposed.

  • Raises budget deviations with attorneys, and leads discussion of corrective actions to minimize write-downs through change orders or staffing changes.

  • Creates specific matter plans that are in line with client and attorney objectives to better track performance.

  • Participates in legal operations tasks for clients, such creating process documents.

  • Develops standardized practice group, client, and matter level processes and procedures to ease of administrative work and data and metrics collection for reporting.

  • Coordinates data gathering and analysis for quarterly client reviews and presentations (QBRs).

  • Assists attorney team with ad hoc financial requests and provide recommendations.

  • Works with attorneys to create rate cards when required by RFPs.

  • Collaborates with IT to develop various automated reports to increase efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • 5 or more years' experience in pricing, legal project management, and/or financial analysis.

  • Experience in the professional services industry preferred.

  • Ability to achieve certification in legal pricing and/or legal project management within two years.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to assess management needs and craft innovative solutions to meet specific Firm and client objectives.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written), professional demeanor and presentation. Including active listening and ability to convey information clearly.

  • Candidate must be a self-starter who can work independently and also an effective team player.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the capability of managing multiple projects efficiently.

  • Position also requires the ability to work under pressure and additional hours to meet deadlines.

  • Exceptional computer skills with the ability to learn new software applications quickly.

  • Proficiency with Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite required, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP's, formulas, macros).

  • Knowledge of profitability software, such as Redwood, and Power BI preferred.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's degree.

  • MBA in Finance preferred.

These ranges may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience. In addition to the base compensation, Holland & Knight provides bonus opportunities and an exceptional benefits package. California, Massachusetts, New York (City), District of Columbia: $105,000.00 - $157,000.00 per year Illinois, Washington, Tysons: $96,000.00 - $144,000.00 per year Colorado, Richmond: $87,000.00 - $131,000.00 per year
