Job description

Security Patrol Enforcement Officer

Security Patrol Enforcement Officers/Armed Security Patrol Officers are primarily Level 2 or 3 Uniformed Security Officers. An SPEO or ASPO's primary duties involve patrol and private policing work, crime investigation, field support for SSO's and ACO's, field training, issuing citations to trespassers on Client properties, and working with law enforcement in detaining and conducting arrests for active and suspected criminal conduct on Client property. SPEO's and ASPO's are trained in the use of non-lethal and lethal Use of Force depending on their security level and weapons certifications, but are primarily armed, with many Officers having former military or law enforcement experience. SPEO's and ASPO's shall submit Daily Activity Reports, weekly Timesheets, and Incident Reports as necessary. SPEO's and ASPO's report to either the ASPO Supervisor or Operations Manager, and may also provide field training as an FTO (Field Training Officer) or FSO (Field Support Officer).

Armed Security Guard Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Clean background with no criminal convictions.
  • Physical strength and fitness.
  • Clean cut appearance and grooming standards required.
  • Strict moral and ethical code of integrity and honesty.
  • Minimum one year prior experience as a Security Guard.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to operate security systems and emergency equipment.
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work alone with limited supervisor as well as to be a team player.
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors and to respect a Chain of Command.
  • Ability to solve problems as they arise.
  • Ability to react appropriately in stressful situations and to use De-escalation techniques.
  • Good understanding of legal guidelines for area security and public safety.
  • Ability to submit daily written reports.
  • Outstanding surveillance and observation skills.
  • Trained in First Aid/BLS and self-defense (training is also provided).
  • Trained in legal Use of Force (training is also provided).
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills.
  • Good time-management skills.
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills.

Armed Security Guard Duties:

  • Patrolling and monitoring activities on Client properties and other premises regularly to discourage criminal activity and ensure the environment is safe and secure.
  • Evicting trespassers and violators and detaining suspects/perpetrators while following legal protocols before relevant authorities arrive to take over.
  • Cooperating/working with law enforcement in documenting criminal complaints and transferring custody of detained and/or arrested suspects.
  • Providing detailed reports on daily activities and any incidents that may have occurred to client management and security supervisors.
  • Inspect and patrol premises regularly.
  • Respond to alarms and react in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to people in need.
  • Protect the public while on client property.
  • Submit reports of daily surveillance activity.
  • Maintain regular training standards and relevant security qualifications and certifications.
  • Regular upkeep and inspection of company vehicles.
  • Conduct mobile patrols.
  • Investigate and prevent crimes.
  • Issue trespass warnings and/or citations.
  • Detain/Arrest suspects.
