Position Overview:
The Legal Operations & Automation Summer Intern will support the Legal Operations team in identifying, developing, and improving business processes through technology and automation. This role provides hands-on experience with legal technology, workflow automation, data management, reporting, and process improvement initiatives that support legal and business stakeholders.
The intern will work on projects involving contract lifecycle management (CLM), legal invoice management, accrual reporting, document automation, Microsoft 365 tools, and other operational initiatives. This position is ideal for a student interested in business, technology, legal operations, data analytics, information systems, or process improvement.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Assist with the design, testing, and implementation of workflow automations using Microsoft 365 tools, including Power Automate, Power Apps, SharePoint, and Forms.
  • Support Legal Operations projects related to contract lifecycle management (CLM), legal invoice processing, accrual collection and reporting, matter management, and reporting dashboards.
  • Analyze existing processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce manual work, and enhance data quality.
  • Document business processes, workflows, requirements, and standard operating procedures.
  • Participate in user testing, troubleshooting, and validation of automated solutions and system enhancements.
  • Assist with the creation of reports, metrics, and dashboards to support Legal Operations decision-making
  • Collaborate with legal, finance, procurement, and business teams to gather requirements and understand operational needs.
  • Maintain and update data within legal operations systems, databases, and SharePoint environments.
  • Research emerging technologies, AI tools, and automation opportunities that could improve legal department operations.
  • Provide general project and administrative support for Legal Operations initiatives as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Information Technology, Data Analytics, Finance, Legal Studies, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Completed at least one year of undergraduate coursework.
  • Strong interest in technology, automation, process improvement, and business operations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently in a collaborative team environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy and continuous improvement

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.
The salary for this role is $22-$25 per hour.
