Job description

A leading global alternative investment firm with a major presence is seeking an Associate to join its Legal Affairs / Capital Markets Legal team in a Document Control capacity.

This role sits at the center of the firms legal document execution process, supporting investment professionals, legal teams, and external counterparties by ensuring transaction documents are properly reviewed, executed, and maintained within the firms document management systems. The role provides exposure to legal workflows supporting credit and investment transactions within a global alternative investment platform.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming legal and transaction documents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to execution
  • Coordinate the document execution process, including collecting signatures and distributing finalized documentation
  • Maintain organized records within the firms document warehouse and document management systems
  • Coordinate access to deal data rooms and support document sharing for new transactions
  • Act as a central point of contact for document-related requests from internal teams and external counterparties
  • Route external inquiries and documentation to appropriate internal stakeholders
  • Support ongoing improvements to document control procedures and workflow processes
  • Maintain strict confidentiality when handling sensitive legal and transaction materials

Qualifications

  • Experience in legal operations, document control, compliance, paralegal, or legal support roles
  • Experience within investment banking, asset management, financial services, or a law firm is strongly preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  • Experience with document management tools, DocuSign, or Adobe Acrobat is helpful
  • Ability to review and organize complex legal documentation with a high degree of accuracy
